The Motorcycle
Most people who are visiting the site at this point are aware the Nub was the result of a
collision between a Dodge Stratus, and a Yamaha XT350. I am sure what people want to
know is what the bike looks like.
I was able to take some pictures of the bike and thought I would post them up so everyone
can get a chance to look at them. Some of the pictures aren't really that clear and may be a
bit dark as they were taken at night in a garage, but at least there will now be some pictures
of the bike posted.

These photos can be a bit misleading as it looks like there wasn't much damage done to
the bike. Here is a list of things that will have to be replaced on the bike to get it back to
being functional again.
- Handlebars
- Clutch lever
- Front brake lever and possibly master cylinder
- Left side crankcase cover
- Right and left driver's foot pegs
- Shift lever
- Complete new airbox assembly
- Possibly new monoshock (The damage to this is hard to assess with the airbox still in
place.
- Both plastic covers on both sides on the bike
- The gas tank has a large dent on the right side of it and paint on it is scratched badly
- This list is by no means exhaustive at this point. This is just the damage that is
visible from the outside of the bike. It is possible there is some internal damage
since the bike was hit as hard as it was from the side. This kind of damage is
something that will have to be
The insurance adjuster is coming to look at the bike next week and then I should be able
to figure out how much damage was done, and how much they are going to pay for the
damages.
A view of the left side of the motorcycle.
This was the side of the bike which was
struck by the car. Notice the exposed fly
wheel near the center of the picture and the
exploded airbox right between the V of the
frame.
Although this picture doesn't show it that
well, the gearshift lever is bent completely
around on top of itself. It looks like it is
bent into a complete circle. You can also
see the exposed flywheel in this picture.
The handlebars of the bike are completely
bent out of shape. Not only are they
pushed way forward on their mounting
hardware, the right part of the bar is bent
skyward. This would make for a very
interesting riding position.
A pic of the right side of the bike showing
the footpeg which is bent FORWARD! What
is so interesting about that is in order for
the peg to bend forward like that, the bike
must have been sliding backwards across
the pavement and hit something very solid.
In most cases, those pegs do not bend, or
at least they bend towards the rear wheel of
the bike.
