LIfe...
What a word. Everyone living has one, but do they really live it? That has been the question of the past couple of weeks. If someone were to ask me, "How is life going?" I think I would have to say wonderful. Yeah it stinks to have only 1.5 feet when I had 2 a couple of weeks ago. It also stinks to have to rely on other people ALOT to help me do things which I was able to do on my own a couple of weeks ago, and it also stinks to be stuck at home when I would really like to be doing something else, but life is going well.
There have been quite a few changes that have taken place since I last posted anything. I totaled out my Yamaha, the one that I was riding when I got hit, and got more out of it then I paid for it. Truth be told, I really got paid almost $400 to ride it for 2000 miles. Really can't beat it if someone pays you to drive your own vehicle. Since I was on the way to work when the accident happened, I also had my computer with me. The case on the computer was cracked in the crash, and the insurance company is going to pay me for that as well, so i am going to be getting a brand new Dell to replace it. It is going to be over twice the computer that my current laptop is. So that is going to be a huge plus as well. I believe it will be coming in tomorrow, it should show up while I am in class.
It is also looking like I will be headed back to work soon. On Friday, my boss and I are going to be getting together to look at and start coming up with a plan to test a new $70k multi-bed test reactor that the CEBC is getting. We have a month with it to test is out and then we have to show that it is going to be an indispensable part of our research. I am really looking forward to having a chance at getting back into the lab. After over 5 weeks of sitting out, I feel like I am starting to get rusty. Come the end of the month though, I may be singing to a different tune.
I am going to have a lot going on in the next two weeks. I have a surgery scheduled for the 13th of this month. They are going to be removing the black thing from the outside of my leg and the Nub. This is allow some mobility in the ankle and allow the Nub to start moving. The docs are also going to be looking at a couple of black spots on the Nub, and seeing if I am going to be needing a skin graph to cover the damage. If I do, then I will have a second surgery on the 16th to do that. On top of all the surgeries I am supposed to have a test on the 16th in one of my classes. Thankfully the prof has told me we will work out another date, but still I am going to have to take the test sometime.
Enough rambling for now, I need to go to bed as I have to head to class tomorrow morning.

Matt - I'm reminded of something that I believe Mark Lowry says on one of his CD's. I can't quote him word for word, but he's talking about the John 10:10 when Jesus says 'I have come to give you life and to give it more abundantly.' He then asks the question 'What is Life' and he starts talking about both the good things that happen, and the bad. Then then says that Jesus never promised he'd give us only good days, but that he'd give us life, and more abundantly.
Also...speaking of your laptop...I have that disc ready for you and it's sitting on my window by the door. Hopefully I'll remember to bring it tonight. If you've copied all of your data to another location already, we can wipe the computer tonight. If not, I'll send the disc home with you, but I'm not 100% sure how to use it.

Hey! I am glad to hear that you are doing okay. Sounds like your insurance company took care of those few material possessions that got hurt in the accident. That is always nice. Sorry that you have a test coming up. I had one today that I totally bombed. no exageration unfortunately. I have another one on the 18th that hopefully I will do better on.
I also have a broken laptop. The hinge where my screen and base come together has just separated... no accident neccesary. I have about one more month til my year warranty is up... I need to get it sent back soon. It has been broken for a couple months now.
I hope things continue to get better for you. And about the whole 1.5 feet thing, a talented guy like you will be able to do more with that than many people with 2 feet. ;) Talk to you soon.
